This will be the "quick start" manual for the new release of LickitySplit, upgraded to support a weighting factor to adjust actual split times according to the disability of the skier.
Entry of the startlist can be done either using the StartList data entry screen shown below,

or by entering the startlist data in the memopad. The memopad file can actually either be created on the PalmOS device, or on your desktop computer and then HotSync'd over to the PDA. If you are entering a startlist for a disabled skier race, then you can enter the weighting factor using a hidden field (located where the cursor is shown in the above image).
The first line of the memopad file will be the name of the file, and the second line must contain the word Start on a line by itself. The remaining lines are bib entry lines, as described below. The format of the minimum data which needs to be entered is:
Where Bib is an up to 3 digit number
Name is up to 8 characters
Affiliation is up to 3 characters
Category is up to 3 characters
and each parameter is separated by a minus sign character
When you import a startlist in this format using the ImportStartList function shown below,

you can specify the gap between starting waves of skiers, and the number of skiers per wave.
If you rather want to use non-evenly repeating start times, you can extend each input line with an up to 4 digit start time (in seconds):
Lastly, if you are doing timing for disabled skiers, you can add an additional parameter, which is the weighting factor for this skier.
Here is a sample startlist, called Alpha Race List:
Alpha Race List
Start
801-Aaaaaaaa-Aaa-aaa
802-Bbbbbbbb-Bbb-bbb
803-Cccccccc-Ccc-ccc
804-Dddddddd-Ddd-ddd
805-Eeeeeeee-Eee-eee
806-Ffffffff-Fff-fff
After importing this startlist, I then exported it, calling the export Times and Factors, which resulted in the following file, which includes the start interval time and weighting factor:
Times and Factors
Start
801-Aaaaaaaa-Aaa-aaa-0-100
802-Bbbbbbbb-Bbb-bbb-30-100
803-Cccccccc-Ccc-ccc-60-100
804-Dddddddd-Ddd-ddd-90-100
805-Eeeeeeee-Eee-eee-120-100
806-Ffffffff-Fff-fff-150-100
A startlist which does not require weighting factors can be entered like this example:
Times
Start
801-Aaaaaaaa-Aaa-aaa-0
802-Bbbbbbbb-Bbb-bbb-60
803-Cccccccc-Ccc-ccc-20
804-Dddddddd-Ddd-ddd-60
805-Eeeeeeee-Eee-eee-130
806-Ffffffff-Fff-fff-150
and you can see that I edited some of the start interval times.
Note that when you import a startlist which includes either times or times and weighting factors, the Gap and Wave import screen fields are ignored.
