This program was originally written by Kc Morris and Henry Hedberg as part of their Computer Studies final year project at the University of Alaska. I obtained a copy from them in 1999, and sent in a list of "want items" for a future release.
When I contacted them in September 2000 about any possible updates, they decided to release the code into the public domain under the GNU license. Once they had done that, Henry sent me a copy of the source for Codewarrior for Palm, and I've started doing the "wish list" items.
Please feel free to download a copy of the current software version. It will run on basically any old PalmOS device that you can lay your hands on. Mine runs on my "Ice" Visor Deluxe from Handspring.
With the excitement of the Paralympics in the air, I'm working on LickitySplit again. The steps I have now completed are to have the ability to key in a start list from the "New Start List" screen , and to then export that to the memopad. The export includes the individual racer's start interval as well as their "disability weighting factor". The import will then read this same data back in. Why is this especially valuable? Because one user can key in the data, export it, and then beam it to another user who can then import it!
Brief (hey, I did it between 01:00 and 03:00 on the day I worked on the update until 01:00) documentation on the new data entry features is now available. With this latest update, I am switching this software from strict Freeware, to Donationware. I would like to solicit a Donation from any non-Canadian user either to the Canadian National XC Ski Team (if you are using LickitySplit for timing "able" ski-racers), or to the Canadian National Disabled XC Ski Team (if you are using LickitySplit for timing "disabled ski-racers" -- although you'll have to pardon me -- seems to me that "disabled ski-racer" is an oxymoron).
I would suggest a donation of $50.00US -- PLEASE make sure that your donation is specific as to it's destination, or it will go in as "General Revenue". Here is contact information for the Canadian National XC Ski Teams.
If you want to encourage me in my programming endeavours, send me an email!
